Why visit Florence?

Why visit Florence? Well, because it's simply the best city in the world! At least for me. Every time I am there, my heart beats faster. There is magic everywhere. There's incredible art, like the world-famous David by Michelangelo—very handsome, by the way—and rich history, thanks to the Medici banking family that put Florence on the map and essentially started the Renaissance. The food is a delight—you must try their famous Bistecca alla Fiorentina and indulge in plenty of pasta and gelato (the correct gelato, of course, but more on that later).

But Florence is more than just art, history, and gelato! Walking the streets and popping into small museums and churches is an adventure. Don't miss an opportunity to enjoy a real Italian aperitivo while people-watching (so fun!), or stroll through the city at night to the sounds of street performers—imagine real opera on the street and maybe some "Bella Ciao, Bella ciao ciao." Wine tasting is a must too, and you can do it very close to Florence; no need to venture all the way out to the Tuscan countryside. An artisanal workshop tour is another incredible thing to do and reveals the true heart of Florence. And definitely try a fresco painting class—I cannot recommend it enough. Done it twice already!
